Kenya
Visitors Visa
We have two types of visitors Visas:

Temporary residence single/one entry Visitors Visa. The single-entry visa authorizes you to enter Canada only once; however, with a Valid U.S. visa, you can go into the U.S. and return to Canada with a single-entry visa (as long as the authorized period of stay in Canada has not expired).
Temporary residence multiple entry Visitors Visa. The multiple-entry visa authorizes you to enter Canada as many times as you want during the period of validity; if you request a multiply-entry visa (and pay the required fee), The High Commission of Canada in Nairobistill reserve’s the right to issue you only a single-entry visa (and the difference between the fees will not be refunded, because fees paid are for processing the application, not for the type of visa issued); if you are going to Canada for the first time or are not sure of obtaining a visa, it is better to apply for a single-entry visa.

Categories under this include:

Tourism,
Family
Business
Other visits

The processing period on an application by The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi is a Minimum of 7 working days, excluding the day when Visa application Centre receives the lodged application from the applicant i.e. application intake, and the day when the Visa Application Centre retrieves the sealed decision from The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi, if one submits an application from VFS Canada VAC, Nairobi office, and a Minimum of 15 working days if you submit your application from our VFS office at Kampala.

The period of validity of a visa is determined by the officer at The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi. A single-entry visa is generally valid for six months whereas a multiple-entry visa may be valid for longer. The date endorsed in the visa is that which you must have to enter Canada & not the one which you must leave Canada; the officer at the port of entry will determine the authorized length of your stay (usually also six months from the date of entry).

VISA APPLYING
PROCESS

Step 1
Only short-term visa applications are accepted at the VFS application centre with Permanent Residence Visa applications being accepted as mail transmission only in our Kampala office.

Step 2
Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how much time it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi to decide on.

Step 3
Please go to the link “All about visas” to understand details of Short Stay visas and Long Stay visas.

Step 4
Please ensure you read the security regulation notices before you visit the visa application centre’s.
