Canada Visa Information - Kenya - All About Your Visas

Nationalities of Burundi, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Kinshasa), Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Reunion, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda are eligible to apply through our VFS office’s for the above Visa Categories.

Applications for Permanent Residence can be launched at The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi directly; however, the VFS offices in Kampala do accept Permanent Residence application correspondence for sending to The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi as a Mail Transmission, whereby the sealed documents are brought to the respective Kampala offices for sending to The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi behalf of an applicant.

If you wish to submit a visa application at this centre, kindly ensure you submit a complete application which includes passport, processing fees, bank draft (i.e. Visa fees), the relevant forms and documents in a sealed envelope to the centre. Any mandatory information missing on the visa forms or required documents will lead to the application being sent back to the applicant, thus increasing the application processing time taken by The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi.

The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will reduce the chances of your application being incomplete or not being processed by The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi.

Note: All applications will be assessed at The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi in this order: After an applicant has lodged his/her application, VFS Canada Visa Application Centre will forward the application to The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi, where the documents will be processed and a decision arrived at. After the stipulated turn around timings, the sealed decision with the accompanying return documents will then be returned to the Canada Visa Application centre ready for the applicant to collect them.

PROCESS

Step 1

Only short-term visa applications are accepted at the VFS application centre with Permanent Residence Visa applications being accepted as mail transmission only in our Kampala office.

Step 2

Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how much time it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of The High Commission of Canada in Nairobi to decide on.
